Le 23 décembre prochain, la maison de vente aux enchères CMOOA clôturera l’année avec l’organisa- tion d’une manifestation très emblématique qui interpellera les amateurs d’art nationaux et étran- gers, curieux de l’expérience artistique moderne marocaine née au lendemain de l’indépendance.
Cette fois-ci, le prisme de lecture que CMOOA propose d’adopter est celui des premières collections privées marocaines qui ont été constituées par les premiers grands cadres nationaux au courant des années 1960-1970 entre Casablanca et Rabat, et qui ont pu lier des amitiés fortes avec les artistes pionniers de la modernité marocaine.
Autour du Docteur Mustafa Benslimane décédé au début de l’année 2021, de feu Mustafa Boujibar & Aïcha El Khattabi, de Patrice & Pauline De Mazières, de Monsieur et Madame Bencheikh, et d’une dernière grande collection particulière casablancaise, CMOOA a réuni quarante-deux œuvres d’art de qualité exceptionnelle.

En - On December 23rd, the CMOOA auction house will close the year with a highly emblematic event that will appeal to national and foreign art amateurs curious about the modern Moroccan artistic expe- rience born after independence.
This time the reading prism that CMOOA proposes to adopt is the one of the first Moroccan pri- vate collections that were constituted by the first great national executives during the 1960s-1970s between Casablanca and Rabat, and who were able to form strong friendships with the pioneering artists of Moroccan modernity.
Around Doctor Mustafa Benslimane who passed away in early 2021, Mustafa Boujibar & Aïcha El Khattabi, Patrice & Pauline Demmazières, Mr and Mrs Bencheikh, and one last great private collection from Casablanca, CMOOA has brought together forty-two works of art of exceptional quality.

Découvrir les amitiés très fortes qui unissaient Jilali Gharbaoui à Mustafa Benslimane, mais aussi Mustafa Boujibar & Aicha El Khattabi à Farid Belkahia, et de Monsieur Bencheikh à Mohamed Melehi & Mohammed Chabâa, c’est se plonger dans le Maroc des années 60-70 où les grands artistes marocains manquaient d’espace de diffusion, et où l’acte d’acquisition était souvent considéré comme un geste militant. Ces premiers collectionneurs mentionnés dans notre catalogue font, désormais, intégralement partie de la grande histoire de l’art de notre pays aux côtés de Abdeslam Sijelmassi, de Abdelaziz Alami, de Mourad Ben’mbarek, Abdelhaq Serghini et Niamat Allah Khattib.

En - To discover the very strong friendships between Jilali Gharbaoui and Mustafa Benslimane, but also between Mustafa Boujibar & Aïcha El Khattabi and Farid Belkahia, and between Mr Bencheikh and Mohamed Melehi & Mohammed Chabâa, is to plunge into the Morocco of the 60s and 70s, when great Moroccan artists lacked of space for dissemination and when the act of acquiring art was often considered as militant act. These first collectors mentioned in our catalogue are now an integral part of the great history of art in our country alongside Abdeslam Sijelmassi, Abdelaziz Alami, Mourad Ben’mbarek, Abdelhaq Serghini and Niamat Allah Khattib.

Des abstractions lyriques et fortes de Jilali Gharbaui réalisées entre 1959 et 1970, aux premières œuvres de Farid Belkahia réalisées à Prague entre 1962 et 1963, et celles du Groupe de Casablanca « Melehi-Chabâa-Belkahia », jusqu’aux recherches d’Ahmed Cherkaoui, de Houssein Tallal, de Mohammed Kacimi, de Mohamed Abouelouakar, de Saad Ben Cheffaj et de Fouad Bellamine, la vente aux enchères du 23 décembre favorisera la reconnaissance artistique de ces grands génies à travers les œuvres détenues par ces premiers collectionneurs.

En - From the strong lyrical abstractions of Jilali Gharbaui produced between 1959 and 1970, to the early works of Farid Belkahia produced in Prague between 1962 and 1963, and those of the Casa- blanca Group “Melehi-Chabaa-Belkahia“, to the research of Ahmed Cherkaoui, Houssine Tallal, Mohammed Kacimi, Mohammed Abouelouakkar, Saad Ben Cheffag and Fouad Bellamine, the auction of December 23rd will promote the artistic recognition of these great geniuses through the works held by these first collectors.
